Our full guide to Everlastings in the Wildwood
Everlastings in the Wildwood is a greenhouse business on West Brewer Road outside Owosso that also hosts weddings in its gardens. It's set on 100 acres of woodland and farmland, with seven greenhouses, a waterfall garden and tens of thousands of flowers. Most venues bring in flowers for the day; this one grows them.
Menzo Weddings provides wedding DJ and MC services at Everlastings and across mid-Michigan, with live ceremony and cocktail-hour music to add. We were the DJ for Heather and Tyler's wedding here in the summer of 2026. This page covers the venue, their day, and how we approach music for a wedding set among gardens and greenhouses.
What is Everlastings in the Wildwood like for a wedding?
Amy and Eric Swanson founded Everlastings in the Wildwood in 1994 as a single greenhouse growing perennials and herbs. Three years later they added hybrid annuals, and the business has grown to seven greenhouses holding more than 65,000 hybrid annuals, a garden gift shop and a one-and-a-half-acre waterfall display garden.
The venue's wedding page lists what couples get:
- private access to a 40-by-120-foot garden-themed wedding space
- one and a half acres of gardens with three waterfalls, used for ceremonies
- more than 30 custom planters as part of the décor
- room for up to 250 guests
The venue doesn't publish its vendor or music policies online, so call them for details. See Everlastings in the Wildwood's website.
Heather and Tyler's wedding at Everlastings
Heather and Tyler were married in the summer of 2026. The ceremony was outdoors among the flower beds, with a unity table set under the trees, and the wedding party gathered afterwards in one of the greenhouses for photographs. The reception moved under a white tent strung with lights. Simply Shalyn Photography photographed the day and credited "DJ: Menzo Media" when the gallery went up.
Two moments stood out. Tyler sang Heather a song he had written for her. And when the Monster Mash came on, the whole family took over the dance floor. It was a wedding with room for both: an original love song, and a family dancing together to a Halloween novelty hit.

Ceremony music in the waterfall garden
A garden ceremony with waterfalls has a sound of its own. Running water is lovely to look at and listen to, but it also adds a steady background hiss that can cover quiet vows. Our approach outdoors is to amplify the officiant, the couple and the music lightly, enough that guests at the back hear every word, while keeping it gentle enough to suit the garden.
Live acoustic guitar and vocals, or piano, fit a setting full of flowers, and can be added to your DJ and MC booking. We plan the processional to the length of the path so the music lands as you reach the front. See live ceremony music.
Cocktail hour among the flowers
With an acre and a half of gardens to wander, guests will spread out after the ceremony. A live acoustic set gives them a place to gather, with music that fits the setting better than a playlist would. See cocktail hour music.
Wedding DJ and MC for a reception at Everlastings

Families who dance together, like Heather and Tyler's did, make the best receptions. Our approach is to plan the big moments with you, the entrance, first dance, parent dances and any surprises, and then read the room for the rest. Novelty songs, line dances and sing-alongs all have a place when the whole family is on the floor, and your do-not-play list stays close all night. See wedding DJ and MC.
If someone in your wedding party is planning to sing, as Tyler did, we can set up the microphone, introduce the moment and make sure the room is quiet for it. That's part of being the MC as well as the DJ. If you'd like live music during the reception too, add DJ plus live music.
Music ideas for a garden wedding
A ceremony among flowers and waterfalls suits soft, acoustic arrangements: a classic love song on guitar, or a slowed-down version of a pop song you both love for the processional. For cocktail hour, gentle covers that guests half-recognise work well outdoors. For the reception, follow your families. At Heather and Tyler's wedding, the Monster Mash brought everyone onto the floor, which says a lot about how far a well-chosen novelty song can go.
These are starting points, not a set list. We plan every song with you before the day, including the ones that must be played and the ones that mustn't. The acoustic ceremony song ideas guide has more. Before you plan the music, ask the venue where the ceremony moves if it rains, when vendors can arrive, and what time music needs to end.
