A wedding is the only show where the whole audience is family. That’s why it’s my favorite stage.

I’m Dave Menzo, and I’ve been making music my entire life. Menzo Weddings is my wedding DJ, MC and live music company, based in Ann Arbor and playing weddings all over Michigan. The ceremony. The toasts. The first song after dinner. I plan each one with you, song by song, to create the soundtrack to the best night of your life.

Whatever the venue, and whatever hurdles come up along the way, the goal never changes: a professionally crafted atmosphere, built for the people in the room.

Playing Michigan weddings for more than a decade

I’m Dave Menzo. I’ve been performing since 2001, and somewhere along the way I realised that my favourite stage isn’t a club or a festival. It’s a wedding reception at the moment the room stops being a room full of guests and becomes one big party. I started Menzo Weddings to chase that moment, every Saturday, for every couple who trusts me with their day.

And it isn’t only the dancing. It’s the hush before the processional, a toast that lands, the first song after dinner that pulls everyone out of their seats. A wedding has a rhythm, and I love being the person who holds it.

A plan made with you. We go through your must-plays, your do-not-plays and the people who’ll be in the room, and build the night song by song.
Music played for your room. On the night I play to the room in front of me, so the right song comes at the right moment.
Live music where it matters. I sing and play guitar and piano, and live musicians can join over the DJ set when you want the night to feel like a concert. See DJ plus live music.

Music first, since 2001

I recorded my first solo album in 2001, and music has been the through-line of my life ever since. I make psychedelic pop records. One of them, Shhh… (2015), I made on instruments borrowed from the library. Since then I’ve released Color Wheel and VISION QUEST (2026), plus singles like “BOAT SZN”, “IS IT JUST ME???” and “Meet Me in the Water”, which I directed the music video for myself.

My band has played SXSW showcases in Austin, and in the fall of 2026 we toured Japan, nine shows on the VISION QUEST tour. In 2021 I was nominated at the Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding Live Sound Tech, which meant a lot to me, because that award is about making a room sound right. That’s most of what a great wedding needs.
